In the Henhouse

Well, it's finally time to count the hatched chickens and so far we're at 28 in the House and 6 in the Senate. A rout, no matter how you look at it.
We even got the added bonus of a Rumsfeld resignation and a Bush with egg on his face at today's press conferences.
Now that I've beat that metaphor to death, I'll return to celebratory mode.
The future looks bright. Vermont even elected a socialist!

Apologize Already

Dear Senator Kerry:
Anyone with half a brain in this country knows that you did not mean to offend the troops. I applaud your agressive response to a despicable White House effort to remove your comments from their proper context and paint you and the Democratic party as unsupportive of our troops in Iraq. Don't play into their hands. Don't let them ride this straw man to a victory next week. Short circuit their pathetic attempts to redirect the focus of this election. Apologize.
Just say that your intent was not to offend anyone, but that clearly your remarks were delivered poorly and thus misinterpreted, and for that you are extremely sorry. Then launch into an attack on Bush's failed policy in Iraq. Please. Don't let this idiotic non-issue dominate a news cycle that could be put to better use building Democratic leads in very tight races.
Take one for the team, Senator. Today.
